NEWSFLASH: Due to the holiday weekend, our Next Meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 14th.
Reminder: 4170L Plane Washing is Sunday, August 29th, 8AM
We have our third plane, N2841Y, and it is home safely on the Alpha Ramp!

Many thanks to our President, Captain Ray, who flew the Archer II in from Rhode Island and put it to bed in slot #62. He also stayed up most of the night scanning the POH. So it's ready to go!
Get some rest Ray. We are all grateful.
TEFC is Long Island's premier flying club!
Interested in learning how to fly? Or sharing an airplane for your personal use? Consider the Telephone Employees Flying Club.
We are now open to all interested individuals for recreational flying and flight
training.
Currently, the club has two airplanes, both IFR equipped:
- 1974 Beechcraft Sport 150
- 2000 Piper Archer III
For active pilots, two main advantages of becoming a member of TEFC as opposed to renting an aircraft from FBOs or flight schools are the reduced cost and flexibility in aircraft availability. Members can reserve an airplane up to one month in advance. Of course, owning your personal airplane is the dream of most of us but this option is usually cost prohibitive.
Our airplanes are conveniently located at Republic Airport (KFRG) in Farmingdale, NY on Long Island.
Flying is an expensive hobby. We take great pride in providing a relatively low cost flying solution, but most importantly, our airplanes are in excellent condition and highly maintained to the highest standards. When required, maintenance is professionally serviced by expert shops on the field. Our membership take pride in keeping the airplanes clean and appealing to guests at all times.
Members are subject to TEFC By-Laws and Operating Procedures. The club carries a $1,000,000 insurance policy per airplane and $100,000 coverage for members per accident. The TEFC does not provide charter, leasing, renting, or other commercial services.
We are not a certified flight school but our certified and approved flight instructors train students towards pilot certificates and ratings. A formal course is not required to become a certificated pilot but the FAA has basic requirements. Student Pilots must acquire a minimum of 40 hours of flight experience, pass the FAA written exam and practical check ride.
Membership is open to all interested in becoming a pilot as well as existing pilots alike. We look forward to welcoming you into our flying club!
